THE
MORE OFTEN THE
BRAIN
IS USED, THE
LONGER ONE LIVES
Neurophysiologists
like
Ken Miller
et
al pointed
out
that
the earlier one
uses
the
brain,
or, the
longer
one
uses the
brain,
the
slower would
the
brain cells degenerate.
A
study
on an elderly group with
a
mean
age of 81 found that those with
active
mental
activities suwived
best. ln Japan, those with
ha-
bitually active mental exercises
would have good mental power
at
the age of 60 whereas those
not using much of
the
brain af-
ter the
age of 30, would
fare
much worse. A
study by
the
Chinese
Medical Association
also
found that the survivals for
mental workers, physical work-
ers
and
the
unemployed
to
be
85o/o,
39.6%
and
28%
respectively.
According
to
an
UK
scientist, the aging process
is
mainly
a
result
of
brain cell
death. Although each
day,
nearly
100,000
brain cells
die,
during our
whole
life,
we would
have used only
114
of our brain
cells.
With persistent exercising
of our brain,
new brain cells
would come out, attracting bet-
ter circulation and bringing
in
more nutrition and oxygen.
Only
a
healthy brain would be able
to
control and coordinate
the
rest of
the
body so that longev-
ity results.
lt
pays
to
exercise
the
brain!
